One of the best wineries we discovered thanks to local friends. ♥️

A few years ago we were camping near Morro Bay and visiting friends who live in the area. They took us to @absolutioncellars, and it ended up being one of those memorable tasting experiences you hope for on every wine trip. Absolution Cellars is known for producing small-batch, single-vineyard wines sourced from across California’s Central Coast, and their tasting room sits right on the Morro Bay Embarcadero.

We did a tasting, learned about several of their wines, and of course took a few bottles with us. Sometimes the best winery discoveries happen when you follow a local recommendation instead of just the big-name stops.

One of the biggest mistakes first-time California wine travelers make is trying to visit too many wineries in one day.❌

We see itineraries with 4 or even 5 stops. It sounds fun but in reality it becomes rushed, exhausting, and you miss what makes wine country special.
